Island Life

Wendy Soane - a supply Teacher from the UK talks about her experiences working in Alderney.

  • “I enjoyed the Island's beauty and the ocean's amazing view from my computer while I planned lessons and resources.

The children were keen to learn and responded well during all lesson activities.

Every day and moment spent in school with the students and the staff was most pleasant and rewarding.”

  • “The Island community, the amazing selection of shops, and the extremely helpful taxi driver Nick.

The close community atmosphere exists where everyone, including oneself, becomes part of the family.”

  • “From the moment Emma approached me about supply teaching in Alderney, I knew I was in good hands.

I was fully informed about the school, teachers' accommodation and everything I needed to know about the situation and my duties.”
